John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park The John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park in located in downtown Des Moines, Iowa.

The 4.4 acre park opened in 2009 and features artwork by many artists.   

At the time of my visit, there were 28 sculptures.    

This installation is "Nomade" by Jaume Piensa.  The sculpture is 27 feet tall!    

It is a crouching figure with a skin composed of letters.

Visitors can go inside the sculpture.

Drake University is a private, coeducational institution located in Des Moines, Iowa. It was founded in 1881 by Francis Marion Drake, a former governor of Iowa, and has since grown to become one of the leading universities in the Midwest.
