John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park The John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park in located in downtown Des Moines, Iowa.

The 4.4 acre park opened in 2009 and features artwork by many artists.   

At the time of my visit, there were 28 sculptures.    

This installation is "Nomade" by Jaume Piensa.  The sculpture is 27 feet tall!    

It is a crouching figure with a skin composed of letters.

Visitors can go inside the sculpture.

The Iowa Hall of Pride is a museum located in the state's capital, Des Moines. The museum was established in 2006 and is dedicated to celebrating and honoring the achievements of Iowa's citizens, both past and present.

The museum is spread across 29,000 square feet and is divided into various sections, each showcasing different aspects of Iowa's history and culture. The exhibits in the museum incorporate interactive displays, videos, and multimedia presentations to create an engaging experience for visitors.

The Hall of Pride features a wide range of exhibits, including sports, music, art, science, and agriculture. The sports exhibit highlights the achievements of Iowa's sports legends, including the famous wrestler Dan Gable and basketball player Kurt Warner. The music exhibit showcases Iowa's musical heritage, including rock 'n' roll icon Buddy Holly, who was born in Iowa. The science exhibit celebrates Iowa's contributions to scientific research, including the creation of hybrid corn.

The Hall of Pride also hosts events and educational programs throughout the year, including field trips and summer camps for children. The museum is open seven days a week and welcomes visitors of all ages.
