The Litchfield Park Historical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of the Litchfield Park area. The organization was founded in 1996 and is a member of the Arizona Historical Society. The Society partners with the City of Litchfield Park and the Wigwam Resort to preserve and protect the area’s historical artifacts.
The Society’s mission is to discover, preserve, and interpret the history of the area for present and future generations. They accomplish this through educational programs, research, and community outreach. The Society maintains an archive of documents, photos, and other artifacts related to Litchfield Park’s history. They also host lectures and exhibits on local history, and offer guided tours of historic sites in the area.
The Society also works to preserve historic buildings in the area. They have been involved in the restoration of the Wigwam Resort and in the preservation of the historic John L. Miller House. The Miller House is a two-story Victorian-style home built in the early 1900s and is a registered Arizona Historic Property.
The Litchfield Park Historical Society is open to the public and welcomes visitors. They also offer memberships to those interested in helping to preserve the history of the area. Through their efforts, the Society is helping to ensure that the rich history of Litchfield Park is preserved for generations to come.
