John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park The John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park in located in downtown Des Moines, Iowa. The 4.4 acre park opened in 2009 and features artwork by many artists. At the time of my visit, there were 28 sculptures. This installation is "Nomade" by Jaume Piensa. The sculpture is 27 feet tall! It is a crouching figure with a skin composed of letters. Visitors can go inside the sculpture.

The Iowa Military Aviation Heritage Museum located in Ankeny, Iowa, is dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of the state’s aviation heritage.
