The Delaware County Historical Society Inc. of Muncie, Indiana, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Delaware County’s rich history. Founded in 1951, the Society works to collect, preserve, and interpret the county’s history and heritage through a variety of programs, resources, and events.
The Society’s main museum and research center is located in the historic Minnetrista Cultural Center, where visitors can explore a variety of exhibits, artifacts, and archives. The museum hosts a variety of educational and entertaining events throughout the year, including lectures, guided tours, and special exhibits. The Society also operates a library and archive, which contains a variety of books, photographs, and other resources related to the history of Delaware County.
In addition to the museum and research center, the Society also operates a variety of outreach programs, such as the Muncie History Walk, which is an interactive walking tour of downtown Muncie that highlights local landmarks and stories.
