The Sheridan Historical Society (SHS) is an organization dedicated to preserving the history of the town of Sheridan, Indiana. Founded in 1972, the SHS is a nonprofit, volunteer-run organization with a mission to collect and preserve artifacts, photographs, and documents related to Sheridan’s past. The Society also works to educate the public about the town’s history through various programs, events, and publications.
The SHS is located in the town’s historic downtown district and operates out of the historic 1878 Commonwealth Bank building, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
