The Chicago Marine Aquarium Society (CMAS) is a community of aquatic hobbyists based in Park Ridge, IL. Founded in 1995, the organization has grown to over 400 members with a common interest in the hobby of fish keeping. Members have access to a wide variety of resources, including educational seminars, workshops, and other events, as well as a library of books and magazines.

CMAS members are dedicated to the promotion of the responsible and ethical keeping of aquatic animals. This includes providing members with the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain healthy aquariums, as well as advocating for the protection of wild aquatic species and their habitats. The society also encourages the conservation of aquatic ecosystems and the responsible selection of aquarium fish.

In addition to its educational programs, CMAS also hosts several events throughout the year, including an annual auction, a spring fish show, and a fall banquet. The society also organizes field trips to aquatic retailers, botanical gardens, and other aquatic-related sites. CMAS also organizes monthly meetings and publishes a newsletter to keep members informed of the latest developments in the hobby.

CMAS is affiliated with the American Cichlid Association and the Marine Aquarium Societies of North America.
