The Illinois Women's Military and Civil (IWMC) in Normal, Illinois is an organization dedicated to preserving the histories and legacies of the women who have served and are currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. Founded in 2003, it is a group of veterans and active duty women who have served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard. This organization exists to honor the service, sacrifice, and commitment of women in the military and to serve as a support system for those in the military and their families.
IWMC members are invited to meetings and events held throughout the year that promote and celebrate the contributions of women in the military. They also host educational and social events such as movie nights, guest speakers, and fundraisers. The members also volunteer their time to support veteran charities and participate in community service projects.
The IWMC also provides resources to members and their families to help them navigate their military careers and transition back into civilian life. They provide information on education benefits, job opportunities, and other services that help support veterans and their families.
