The Lewistown Society for Historical Preservation Inc. (LSHP) is a non-profit organization founded in 1999 to preserve the history of Lewistown, Illinois, and the surrounding area. The mission of the LSHP is to “preserve and promote the unique heritage of the area.” The organization is dedicated to preserving historic buildings and sites, promoting historic education, and advocating for historic preservation.

The LSHP actively works to preserve and restore the historic buildings and landmarks of Lewistown and its neighboring communities. The organization has been involved in the restoration of the historic Lewistown Courthouse, the preservation of the historic Middletown Cemetery, and the construction of the Lewistown Historic District. The LSHP also offers educational programs and workshops, such as the Annual Historic Preservation Workshop and the Annual Historic Preservation Conference.

The LSHP also hosts several annual events and programs. These include the Annual Historic Home Tour, the Annual Historical Bus Tour, the Annual Christmas Parade, and the Annual Historic Preservation Awards Ceremony. Additionally, the LSHP is involved in the preservation of local museums and galleries, such as the Harter-Fox Museum and Gallery.
