The Peoria County Genealogical Society (PCGS) is a non-profit organization located in Peoria, Illinois. Founded in 1984, PCGS is dedicated to the study and preservation of family history for the citizens of Peoria County. PCGS members are active in researching their own family trees, as well as helping others with their own research. PCGS offers a variety of resources and services to assist genealogists, including access to a library, a database of family history information, and a quarterly publication.

PCGS holds monthly meetings at the Peoria Public Library, in which members are encouraged to share their research and discuss genealogical topics. Additionally, PCGS hosts a variety of special events throughout the year. These include presentations from guest speakers, genealogy workshops, and field trips to local cemeteries and other historical sites.

PCGS is committed to assisting all individuals who are interested in researching their family history. In addition to offering its services to the public, PCGS also provides educational programs to schools and other local organizations. The Society also works closely with the Peoria Historical Society, the Peoria County Historical Society, and other area historical organizations to promote the importance of preserving family history.

PCGS is a member of the Illinois State Genealogical Society, the Federation of Genealogical Societies, and the National Genealogical Society. The Society is committed to helping individuals discover their family history, and to preserving the past for future generations.
