Rollins Savanna, Lake County Forest Preserve District, near Grayslake, IL - 3 September 2023 Lake County Illinois Rocks is a Facebook group. According to their introduction, the group "exists as a random act of kindness to unexpectedly brighten someone's day one rock at a time. We paint and hide a rock, the finder is surprised and happy, the finder then posts a picture of the rock as a way of adding happiness to the painter. The finder then re-hides the rock to give pleasure to someone else. In this way, the rock continues its journey and helps each person to 'Pay it Forward' to the next person."
