The Illinois Quad Cities Law Enforcement Memorial Inc. (IQCLEM) is a non-profit organization located in Moline, IL. It was created in 2002 to honor the law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty in the Quad Cities area. The memorial consists of a granite wall, with the names of fallen officers etched into the stone. Behind the wall stand two bronze statues of a police officer and a sheriff's deputy. The memorial serves as a reminder of the ultimate sacrifice these officers have made.
The IQCLEM holds an annual memorial ceremony in May to honor the fallen officers. During the ceremony, family members of the fallen officers, as well as representatives from local law enforcement agencies, gather at the memorial to pay their respects. The ceremony includes a wreath laying, a roll call of the fallen officers, and a 21-gun salute.
The IQCLEM also provides scholarships to local high school seniors who are pursuing a career in law enforcement. The scholarships are funded through donations from local businesses, organizations and individuals.
The IQCLEM is dedicated to honoring and remembering the brave men and women of the Quad Cities area who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. Through the memorial and scholarships, the IQCLEM ensures that the courage and sacrifice of these heroes will not be forgotten.
