The Hutsonville Historical Society Incorporated (HHSI) is located in Hutsonville, Illinois. It was founded in 1972 to preserve and promote the history of Hutsonville and the surrounding area. The HHSI collects, preserves and exhibits artifacts, documents and photographs related to the history of Hutsonville and the surrounding area. The HHSI also maintains a library of books, periodicals and other historical materials related to the area.
The HHSI also sponsors a variety of events throughout the year such as lectures, seminars, workshops and other educational activities. They also hold a variety of fundraising events such as a Christmas Bazaar and an Annual Banquet. The HHSI also supports local organizations by providing educational resources and funds.
The HHSI is governed by a Board of Directors and is staffed by a volunteer core of local citizens. The HHSI is located in the former Hutsonville High School and the main office is open Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. The HHSI also provides access to the Hutsonville Public Library and the HHSI Library.
The HHSI is dedicated to providing access to educational resources and preserving the history of Hutsonville for future generations. They are committed to promoting a better understanding of the area’s history and culture by encouraging research, collecting and preserving artifacts, and providing educational programs.
