The Historic Marbold Farmstead Association (HMFA) is a non-profit organization located in Greenview, IL. The HMFA was established in 1998 with the mission of preserving the historic Marbold Farmstead, a family-owned, 19th-century agricultural site. The association works to protect and preserve the historic Marbold Farmstead while also offering educational and recreational programming with the goal of increasing public awareness and appreciation of the site.
The Marbold Farmstead was originally established in 1866 and is now a 12-acre parcel of land containing a variety of historic buildings, including the original farmhouse, a barn, smokehouse, granary, and a historic schoolhouse. The association works to maintain and preserve the property, and offers educational and recreational activities including guided tours, living history demonstrations, and special events. The HMFA also offers a variety of volunteer opportunities, from hands-on restoration to administrative support, and is always looking for more volunteers.
The HMFA is dedicated to preserving the Marbold Farmstead and its history for generations to come. The association works with local schools and other organizations to promote the educational and recreational activities available at the site, and works to ensure that the Marbold Farmstead remains a part of the community for years to come.
