The Chicago Cultural Alliance (CCA) is a non-profit organization located in Chicago, Illinois. Founded in 1979, CCA is focused on preserving and promoting the diverse cultures and ethnicities of the city of Chicago. The Alliance works to ensure that all cultures in Chicago are represented, celebrated, and respected. It also works to strengthen the cultural institutions of Chicago and to deepen the public's understanding and appreciation of multiculturalism.
The CCA is composed of 24 member organizations including the Chicago History Museum, the Chinese-American Museum of Chicago, the DuSable Museum of African American History, and the Mexican Fine Arts Center Museum. These organizations meet regularly to discuss ways to promote cultural activities and organizations in the city.
The CCA also provides a variety of programs to engage the public in Chicago's cultural life. It sponsors lectures, panel discussions, and seminars on topics related to Chicago's cultural heritage. Additionally, the Alliance organizes festivals, performances, and other events that celebrate the city's diverse cultural backgrounds.
The CCA also provides grants to help support the work of its member organizations. The grants are awarded to organizations that are actively engaged in creating and presenting cultural programs and activities.
The CCA works to bring together the diverse cultures of Chicago and to promote and strengthen Chicago's cultural organizations. By providing programs and grants, the Alliance helps to ensure that Chicago's cultural heritage is preserved and celebrated.
