The Calendar Cowgirls Historical Foundation (CCHF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the legacy of the original Calendar Cowgirls of the 1940s. Founded in Tempe, Arizona in 2015, CCHF honors the history and contributions of these women to the American West.
The Calendar Cowgirls were a group of female cowgirls from Arizona and New Mexico who were featured in a series of calendars from 1943-1945. These calendars were produced by the Western Publishing Company and featured the cowgirls in various poses, showcasing their skill in the saddle, as well as their beauty.
The CCHF works to preserve the legacy of the Calendar Cowgirls through research, education, and the promotion of their legacy. They are committed to researching and documenting the lives of the Calendar Cowgirls and other women of the American West, as well as creating educational materials about their lives and contributions.
The CCHF also works to honor the memory of the Calendar Cowgirls by hosting annual events such as the Cowgirls of the West Festival and Reunion. This event is held in Tempe, Arizona and it celebrates the lives and achievements of the Calendar Cowgirls, as well as other female cowgirls of the American West.
The mission of the CCHF is to honor, preserve, and promote the spirit of the Calendar Cowgirls and the American West. Through their research, education, and promotion of the Calendar Cowgirls, the CCHF is working to ensure that their legacy will live on.
