GREGG HOUSE MUSEUM

Gregg House Museum is a historic 1868 Italianate-style house located in Westmont, Illinois. It was built by prominent local businessman and banker, William Gregg, and was owned by the Gregg family for over one hundred years. The house was donated to the Westmont Historical Society in 1978 and has since been renovated to become a museum.

The museum showcases the Gregg family’s original furnishings, as well as artifacts from the 19th and 20th centuries. Visitors can explore the parlor, dining room, kitchen, bedrooms, and office, each of which are filled with antiques and artifacts from the Gregg family’s life.

The Gregg House Museum also features a variety of special exhibits, including the “Women of Westmont” exhibit, which showcases the lives of local women from the 19th and 20th centuries. Other exhibits highlight the town’s involvement in World War II, local businesses, and the history of the Gregg family.

The museum also offers a variety of educational and cultural programs and events, including history lectures, craft classes, and open houses. The Gregg House Museum is open to the public on Saturdays from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and admission is free.
