Calochortus eurycarpus - big-pod mariposa lily Big-pod mariposa lily growing in the Boise Foothills just west of Five Mile Creek and just north of Cottonwood Creek and E Shaw Mountain Road, Ada County, Idaho. The Wyoming big sagebrush steppe in this area is mostly perturbed because of somewhat recent history of fire and overgrazing. Regardless, big-pod mariposa lily is common at this site.

The Idaho City Historical Foundation (ICHF) is an organization dedicated to the preservation of Idaho City's fascinating history. Founded in 1989, the ICHF has been working to preserve and protect the area's rich history and culture for future generations.

The ICHF offers a variety of programs and services designed to promote and celebrate the history of Idaho City. These services include educational tours and events, historical publications, and the restoration of historical buildings. The ICHF also provides financial and volunteer support for the Idaho City Museum and the Idaho City Cemetery, both of which are open to the public for research and exploration.

The ICHF also partners with other organizations to provide educational opportunities for area students. Through the ICHF's partnership with the Idaho State Historical Society, students can take part in the Idaho History Camps and the Idaho Field Trip program. Both programs offer students the chance to learn about the area's history and culture through hands-on activities and educational field trips.

In addition to preserving the past, the ICHF also works to ensure that Idaho City's future is bright. The organization's members are actively involved in many of the city's local activities and events, such as the annual Fourth of July parade. Through their work, the ICHF ensures that Idaho City continues to be a vibrant, living community.

The ICHF is a non-profit organization and is funded by donations from local businesses, organizations, and individuals. For those interested in learning more about the Idaho City Historical Foundation, the organization's website offers more information about the ICHF's programs and activities.
