The Land of the Yankee Fork Historical Association (LYFHA) is a non-profit organization that works to preserve and protect the history and heritage of the Yankee Fork region of Stanley, Idaho. The Yankee Fork region is a rugged, remote area of the Salmon-Challis National Forest, located in the central part of the state. Established in 2006, the LYFHA works to promote the region’s history, culture, and natural resources through education, research, and preservation.

The LYFHA works to protect and maintain historic sites, buildings, and artifacts in the area, including the Yankee Fork Gold Dredge, an abandoned mining dredge that is now part of the Yankee Fork Gold Dredge State Historic Site. The LYFHA also works to educate the public about the history and culture of the region through various programs and activities, such as lectures, guided tours, and summer camps.

In addition to preserving the history and culture of the area, the LYFHA works to protect the environment and promote sustainable land use practices. Through its involvement in the Yankee Fork Landscape Restoration Project, the LYFHA has been working to restore and protect native habitats and species in the area. The organization also works to ensure that the area’s cultural and natural resources are accessible to visitors, offering guided tours, interpretive displays, and educational materials.
