The Wickenburg Historical Preservation Society (WHPS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the history of Wickenburg, Arizona and its surrounding area. Founded in 1977, the WHPS is dedicated to preserving, interpreting and promoting the town’s rich cultural heritage.

The WHPS is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and is supported by a variety of members and volunteers. The society owns and maintains the Wickenburg Museum and Cultural Center, a one-room schoolhouse, the Desert Caballeros Western Museum, and the Wickenburg Historical Park. It is also actively involved in the preservation and renovation of historic buildings in the downtown area.

The WHPS sponsors a variety of educational and cultural programs throughout the year, including lectures, tours, workshops and special events such as the Annual Wickenburg Rodeo and the Wickenburg Festival of the Arts. The society also works with other organizations, such as the Arizona Historical Society, to promote and preserve the town’s history.

The WHPS is committed to preserving the history of Wickenburg and its surrounding area, ensuring that its stories, people and places are remembered and appreciated. Through its members and volunteers, the WHPS is able to provide a unique insight into the past and ensure that Wickenburg’s heritage is preserved for future generations.
