The Warren County Historical Society Inc (WCHS) is a non-profit organization located in Warrenton, Georgia. It was founded in 1967 by local citizens dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich history of Warren County. The mission of the WCHS is to promote the history of Warren County, Georgia, through education and preservation.

The WCHS offers a variety of programs and activities including genealogical research, historical presentations, and educational activities for students. The WCHS also offers a museum featuring artifacts and exhibits that tell the story of Warren County’s past. The museum houses an array of artifacts, documents, photographs, and oral histories of the area.

The WCHS also offers an annual Heritage Festival which is held in October. This festival celebrates the history of Warren County with a variety of activities and performances. Additionally, the WCHS hosts various community events such as the Warrenton Christmas Parade, the Warrenton 4th of July Parade, and the Warren County Fair.

This marker is located off Hicks St. in the back of the police parking lot. There is one parking space next to this marker, but sometimes the police park a vintage Jeep there.
