GEORGIA NATIONAL CEMETERY ADVISORY COUNCIL INC

The Georgia National Cemetery Advisory Council Inc., located in Canton, GA, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of the Georgia National Cemetery. Established in 2002, the Council works with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Georgia Department of Veterans Services to identify, honor and remember the veterans buried in the Georgia National Cemetery. The Council also works to encourage civic responsibility and patriotism through its educational and interpretive programs.
The Council is comprised of members who are veterans and their families, as well as patriotic citizens who serve as volunteers to assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the cemetery. The Council plans and coordinates a variety of events throughout the year, including Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and Independence Day. These events honor the service members who have served and sacrificed for our country, and provide opportunities for the public to learn about our nation’s proud military heritage.
The Council also works in partnership with the National Cemetery Administration and the Georgia Department of Veterans Services to provide veterans and their families with information about their eligibility for burial in the Georgia National Cemetery, as well as additional benefits and services. The Council also works to ensure that the cemetery remains a place of rest and remembrance for generations to come.
