COMMEMORATIVE AIR FORCE

PEACHTREE CITY, GA

The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) is a nonprofit organization based in Peachtree City, Georgia, that is dedicated to preserving and exhibiting historical aircraft. Founded in 1957, the CAF has over 13,000 members worldwide and operates more than 175 vintage aircraft from World War II and other conflicts.

The organization's Peachtree City base, Dixie Wing, is the largest of the CAF's unit wings. The Dixie Wing houses, maintains, and flies a variety of warbirds, including the P-51 Mustang, P-40 Warhawk, B-17 Flying Fortress, and B-25 Mitchell. The wing also offers educational programs and flight experiences, including a program that allows visitors to experience what it was like to be a WWII fighter pilot.

The Dixie Wing also hosts an annual air show, the "Wings Over North Georgia Air Show", which features aerial performances, World War II aircraft flyovers, educational programs, and more. The air show is an opportunity for the public to learn about the history of aviation and honor the brave men and women who served in the military.

The Dixie Wing is open to the public for self-guided tours Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The CAF also offers a variety of membership levels, from individual memberships to corporate sponsorships, which help support the organization's mission of preserving history through the restoration and display of vintage aircraft.
