Founded in 1974, the Fort Gaines Historical Society Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history and culture of Fort Gaines, Georgia, and its surrounding area. Located in Clay County, the mission of the society is to promote and encourage an interest in the history, culture, and heritage of the area, as well as to collect, preserve, and share artifacts, documents, photographs, and other materials related to the history of the area.
