The Michael C. Carlos Museum is located in Atlanta, Georgia, on the Emory University Campus. Founded in 1919, it is one of the oldest museums in the Southeastern United States. The museum is dedicated to the study and appreciation of ancient art and artifacts from around the world.

The museum's permanent collection includes over 17,000 objects, with a strong emphasis on classical Greek and Roman artifacts, Egyptian mummies, and African art. Among its most notable pieces are the mummy of the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramasses I, and the only ancient Egyptian coffin in the United States. Other exhibitions include a range of African masks and sculptures, and a collection of ancient Greek and Roman coins.

The museum also hosts a variety of educational programs, lectures, and workshops for both adults and children. Additionally, the Carlos Museum has an active outreach program, providing education to the greater Atlanta community.

The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday, and admission is free for members and Emory University students. The museum also offers an array of special events and activities throughout the year, from lectures and film screenings to special exhibitions and workshops.
