The Jacksonville Fire Museum Society Inc in Jacksonville, Florida is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the history and artifacts of firefighting in the city. Founded in 2004, the Society works to preserve and display the city’s firefighting heritage through educational programs, exhibits, and special events. The Society operates the Jacksonville Fire Museum, located in the old firehouse at the corner of Riverside Avenue and McDuff Avenue in the historic Five Points district.
The Jacksonville Fire Museum features a variety of exhibits, including a replica of an original Jacksonville fire engine, an original fire pole from a Jacksonville fire station, and a variety of firefighting artifacts from the late 19th century. The museum also includes a fire prevention education center, a library, and a gift shop. The Museum offers guided tours and educational programs for children and adults.
The Jacksonville Fire Museum Society also participates in a variety of community events and activities each year. These include the Fire Prevention Parade, the Firefighters Memorial Service, and the Firefighters' Ball. The Society also coordinates the annual Fire Prevention Week activities in Jacksonville.
