The White Springs Historic Preservation Society Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the unique history of White Springs, Florida. Located in the heart of north-central Florida, White Springs is an old-fashioned, small town on the Suwannee River.
Since its founding in 2003, the White Springs Historic Preservation Society Inc. has worked to restore, preserve and promote the historical heritage of White Springs. The organization works in partnership with the Town of White Springs, local citizens, businesses, civic organizations and governmental agencies to protect and promote the town’s unique historical resources.
The White Springs Historic Preservation Society Inc. has been instrumental in the restoration and preservation of numerous buildings, including a former hotel, a historic fire station, a historic house and the historic Suwannee River Hotel. The organization has also been involved in the preservation of several historic cemeteries.
The organization also sponsors educational programs and events, such as lectures, walking tours, and field trips, to enhance the appreciation of White Springs’ history and cultural heritage. The organization also works to raise funds for restoration projects and for the acquisition of historical artifacts.
The White Springs Historic Preservation Society Inc. is committed to preserving the town’s unique history and culture for future generations. They strive to ensure that White Springs remains a vibrant, inviting and culturally rich community for all to enjoy.
