The Heritage Foundation History Center in Winter Garden, Florida is a cultural learning experience that is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich history of the region. Opened in 1998 and located on a historic downtown site, the center is owned and operated by the City of Winter Garden and the Heritage Foundation of West Orange County.
The center houses a variety of exhibits, including a replica of a turn-of-the-century general store, photographs and artifacts that tell the story of the area’s history and culture, and interactive displays. The center also offers educational programs, as well as special events throughout the year, including a Heritage Day celebration and a Summer Heritage Camp.
In addition to its exhibits and programs, the center also has a research library, which contains over 4,000 books, magazines, and other materials related to local and regional history. The library also houses a variety of archives and documents, including complete copies of the original charter of the city of Winter Garden, as well as original letters, photographs, and artifacts from the area’s past.
The Heritage Foundation History Center serves as an important resource for students, researchers, and historians who are interested in learning about the history of Winter Garden and the surrounding area. It is a place where people of all ages can explore, learn, and be inspired by the past.
