Established in 1982, the Cortez Village Historical Society Incorporated (CVHSI) is a non-profit organization devoted to preserving and promoting the history of Cortez, Florida. Located in Manatee County, Cortez is a fishing village with a rich history dating back to the late 19th century. The CVHSI works hard to preserve the unique culture and heritage of the village by collecting, preserving, and exhibiting artifacts and documents that tell the stories of generations of Cortez residents.

The CVHSI also works to educate the public about the history of the village. It offers educational programs, tours of historical sites, and hosts special events such as the annual Cortez Village History Festival.
