The Tallahassee-Leon County Cultural Resources Commission (CRCC) is a unique organization dedicated to preserving, promoting and enhancing the cultural resources of Tallahassee and Leon County. Founded in 1975 as part of the Tallahassee/Leon County Planning Department, the CRCC is the only agency in the area responsible for the preservation and promotion of cultural resources. The CRCC seeks to identify, document, and protect the tangible and intangible cultural resources of Tallahassee and Leon County, including archaeological sites, historic buildings, and other important sites.

The CRCC works to ensure that cultural resources are preserved, protected and accessible to the public, and to promote public awareness and appreciation of the unique history and cultural resources of the area. The CRCC provides technical assistance to individuals and organizations for the preservation, restoration and interpretation of historic sites and buildings. The CRCC also makes recommendations to local government on development and land use proposals that may affect cultural resources.

The CRCC is also involved in education and outreach programs that promote the preservation, conservation and public appreciation of cultural resources in Tallahassee and Leon County. The CRCC also offers grants to non-profit organizations in support of projects that preserve and protect cultural resources.

The CRCC is a key partner in the preservation and promotion of Tallahassee and Leon County's rich cultural heritage. Their commitment to the preservation and promotion of cultural resources is essential to the continued growth and success of the community.
