Flagler County Historical Society in Bunnell, Florida, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, interpreting, and promoting the history of Flagler County and its people. The mission of the Society is to promote and preserve the stories of Flagler County. The Society was founded in 1974 and has since collected over 10,000 artifacts, photographs, and documents related to the early history of Flagler County. The Society also operates the Flagler County Historical Museum, which is located in the historic Flagler County Courthouse in Bunnell.
The Museum features a variety of exhibits including documents, photographs, artifacts, and interactive displays that provide visitors with a glimpse into the county’s past. The Museum also offers educational programs and workshops for adults, children, and families. These programs include interactive activities, lectures, and guided tours. The Society also offers a variety of special events throughout the year including the annual Flagler County Fair and Parade, the Flagler County Historical Fair, and other activities such as historic reenactments, living history days, and more.
The Flagler County Historical Society also serves as a research center for those interested in learning more about the history of Flagler County. The Society’s library provides a wealth of information including newspapers, books, photos, documents, maps, and more. The Society also provides access to genealogical records and other resources to assist with family history research.
