The Pinellas County Historical Society Inc. (PCHS) was formed in 1958 and is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history of Pinellas County, Florida. The society is committed to educating the public about the county’s past and the role it has played in the development of the Sunshine State.
The Society operates out of a museum in Seminole, Florida where the public can view exhibits and learn about the history of Pinellas County. The museum houses artifacts, documents and photographs from the county’s past and also hosts a variety of lectures, workshops and special events throughout the year.
The Society also runs a genealogical research center to assist those interested in researching their family history. The research center is staffed by experienced genealogists who can help visitors find vital records, historical documents and other information to help trace their family tree.
The Society also publishes a quarterly newsletter and provides members with access to a variety of special programs, discounts and other benefits.
The Society’s mission is to “preserve the history of Pinellas County, educate the public on the importance of our past, and promote the conservation of our heritage.” The Society is an important part of the local community and continues to work towards preserving the county’s unique history.
