The Charles Junction Historic Preservation Society Inc., located in Jacksonville, Florida, was founded in 1996 by a group of local residents looking to preserve the historic character of the area. The Society works to protect and promote the historic buildings, sites, and landscapes of the Charles Junction neighborhood, which is located between the downtown area and the St. Johns River. The Society was instrumental in the designation of the Charles Junction neighborhood as a local historic district in 2002, and since then has worked to protect and enhance the historic integrity of the area.
The Society has undertaken a number of projects in the area, including the restoration of the historic Mixon-Reed House, the only remaining antebellum home in the neighborhood. The Society has also established a museum in the Mixon-Reed House to display artifacts from the area's past, and offers regular tours of the home.
