The Jay Historical Society (JHS) is a non-profit organization in Jay, Florida dedicated to preserving the history of the area. Founded in 1987, the Society has been working to collect, preserve and promote the rich history of Jay and the surrounding area.

The Society’s primary mission is to preserve and promote the history of the area and to make it accessible to the public. To meet this goal, JHS has established an extensive collection of materials, including photographs, books, documents, maps, artifacts, newspapers, audio and video recordings, and more. These materials are housed in the JHS Museum, located in downtown Jay. The museum also features a variety of exhibits, programs, and events designed to engage and educate the public about the area’s history.

In addition to its museum, JHS also operates a research library, which offers access to a variety of records and documents to help researchers uncover the history of Jay and the surrounding community. The Society also works with local schools to provide educational programs and activities, such as field trips and lectures.

The Jay Historical Society is committed to preserving and promoting the history of the area and ensuring that the history is available to future generations. Through its museum, library, programs, and events, the Society strives to make the history of Jay and its surrounding communities accessible and entertaining to the public.
