The Apopka Historical Society was founded in 1986 to preserve and promote the history of the City of Apopka, Florida. The organization is dedicated to collecting, preserving and interpreting the history of the City, its people and its surroundings. The Society operates a museum and research center in Apopka, Florida, which houses a collection of artifacts, documents and photographs related to the City's history.

The Society has a wide range of activities and events, including the annual Apopka Historical Festival, a monthly lecture series, a summer camp for kids, tours of the museum and research center, and special events at various locations throughout the year.
