Barnacle State Historic Site is a beautiful 5.5-acre park located in the Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami, Florida. It is the former home of Ralph Middleton Munroe, one of Coconut Grove's earliest pioneers. The site is on the National Register of Historic Places and features a variety of historic buildings and landmarks, including the original Barnacle House, a two-story Victorian style home built in 1891.
The main attraction at the site is the Barnacle House, which is open to the public. Visitors can explore the home and view the original furnishings, including furniture, artwork, and artifacts from the Munroe family. In addition to the house, the site includes several other buildings and landmarks, including the Munroe family cemetery, a picnic pavilion, a dock, and a boat ramp.
The park also features a nature trail, as well as a variety of native plants, trees, and shrubs. Visitors can also take advantage of the park's fishing pier, which is open to the public. The park offers educational programs, as well as events and activities throughout the year, such as lectures, guided walks, and live music performances.
