The City of Fort Myers – Burroughs Home is located on the banks of the Caloosahatchee River in Fort Myers, Florida. This historic site is a two-story, Mediterranean Revival style house built in 1901 by Colonel Nathaniel and Mary B. Burroughs. The home was the first masonry residence in Fort Myers and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Burroughs Home offers a glimpse into the lives of Fort Myers’ first settlers. From the moment visitors step onto the property, they are taken back in time to the early 1900s. The home’s exterior features a stucco façade, a red-tiled hip roof and a two-story wrap-around porch. Inside, guests will find a mix of period furnishings and antiques, including furniture, art, and artifacts dating back to the early 19th century.

The home is open to the public for tours and private events. Tour guides are available to provide visitors with an in-depth look at the home’s history and its many features. Additionally, the grounds of the home feature lush gardens, a gazebo and a walking path for visitors to explore.
