The Sheridan Kalorama Historical Association Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the historic character and integrity of the Sheridan-Kalorama neighborhood in Washington, DC. Founded in 1983, the Association works to promote public awareness of the neighborhood’s rich history, its architecture, and its importance to the city’s cultural heritage.

The Association’s primary goal is to preserve the neighborhood’s architectural integrity and to discourage inappropriate development. The Association works to ensure that any new construction or renovation is appropriate to the scale, character and design of the existing neighborhood. The Association also works to preserve the neighborhood’s historic gardens and landscapes, and to protect the area’s trees and other natural features.

The Association sponsors a variety of educational and cultural events throughout the year, including lectures, walking tours, and exhibits. The Association also works closely with the D.C. Historic Preservation Office to ensure that the neighborhood is properly documented and recorded in the D.C. inventory of historic places.

The Sheridan Kalorama Historical Association Inc. is a vital part of the preservation and stewardship of the Sheridan-Kalorama neighborhood and its rich cultural and architectural heritage. Through its work and dedication, the Association is helping to ensure that this important part of Washington DC’s history is preserved for future generations.
