The Conference Group for Central European History (CGCEH) is a professional organization based in Cleveland, Ohio. It was founded in 1985 to promote research and teaching in the history of Central Europe, with a focus on the countries of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, and the former Yugoslavia. The Group’s activities include sponsoring scholarly symposia and lectures, providing funding for research and travel, and organizing research visits and workshops for scholars of Central European history.

The Group's members are based in the United States and Europe, and include professors, graduate and undergraduate students, and independent scholars. The Group's mission is to promote the study of Central European history, to facilitate the exchange of ideas between scholars of the region, and to increase public awareness of Central European history and culture.

The CGCEH meets twice a year, in spring and fall, and holds its annual conference in Cleveland. At the conference, members present their research, discuss current issues in Central European history, and network with other historians. The Group also sponsors lectures, workshops, and field trips throughout the year.

The Group is committed to fostering an open and inclusive environment for all its members, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or sexual orientation. It encourages members to explore a wide range of topics, from political and social history to cultural history. Its members are dedicated to the advancement of the field and to the dissemination of knowledge about Central European history.
