The Delaware Valley Historic Sampler Guild (DVHSG) is a non-profit organization located in Hockessin, DE, dedicated to preserving and promoting the art of historically accurate needlework samplers. The Guild was founded in 1988 and is open to all levels of needleworkers, from beginners to experts.
Members of the DVHSG meet monthly to share their knowledge and participate in a variety of activities, including lectures, workshops and needlework presentations. The Guild also sponsors several educational projects throughout the year, including a scholarship program and the annual Sampler Sale.
The DVHSG is committed to preserving and promoting the art of sampler making. Their mission is to foster and encourage historic needlework among its members, while also providing a forum in which to share knowledge and skills. The Guild offers members access to resources such as an extensive library, sampler archives and research materials.
The DVHSG holds annual retreats, which are open to all members. These retreats are an opportunity for members to come together to learn and share their knowledge, while also having fun and making new friends.
The DVHSG also participates in various needlework exhibitions throughout the year, and offers classes and workshops for those interested in learning more about the art of sampler making. The Guild is a great way for needleworkers of all levels to learn more about samplers and the history of needlework.
