CONNECTICUT TREES OF HONOR MEMORIAL

The Connecticut Trees of Honor Memorial is a living tribute to the men and women of Connecticut who have lost their lives serving in the military since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Located on a 4-acre plot of land in Veterans Memorial Park in Windsor, CT, the Memorial features a grove of 65 Eastern Redbud trees, each one dedicated to a fallen servicemember. The trees are arranged in a semicircle around a central flagpole, which flies the American flag and a POW/MIA flag.
Visitors to the Memorial can walk along a winding path that leads through the grove of trees, which are marked with plaques bearing the names and photos of the fallen. The path leads to a granite monument that bears the names of all 65 servicemembers, as well as a bronze statue of a soldier standing watch over the Memorial.
The Connecticut Trees of Honor Memorial was created in 2013 by a group of volunteers who were inspired by the sacrifices of the men and women who have served our country. The Memorial is maintained by the nonprofit Connecticut Trees of Honor Memorial Inc., which relies on donations and volunteers to keep the trees healthy and the Memorial grounds in good condition. The Memorial serves as a place of reflection and remembrance for all who visit, and a reminder of the sacrifices made by those who have given their lives in service to our nation.
