The Order of First Families of Connecticut 1633-1662 is a lineage society that recognizes and honors the first families who settled in Connecticut between the years 1633 and 1662. The society was founded in Roxbury, Connecticut, in 1902, by a group of descendants of these early settlers who wished to preserve their family histories and genealogies.
To be eligible for membership in the Order of First Families of Connecticut 1633-1662, individuals must be able to prove that they are descendants of one or more of the original settlers who arrived in Connecticut during the designated time period. The society maintains a database of approved ancestors and their descendants, as well as a collection of historical documents and artifacts related to the early history of Connecticut.
