The Suffield Historical Society is a non-profit organization committed to the preservation and documentation of Suffield, Connecticut's history and culture. Founded in 1972, the Society collects and preserves artifacts, documents, photographs, and other materials related to Suffield's history, and hosts a variety of educational and cultural events, including lectures, walking tours, and exhibits.

The Society is located in the historic Phelps-Hatheway House and Garden, a National Historic Landmark built in 1793. The house, which is open for tours, is home to a collection of artifacts, furnishings, and artwork from the Phelps and Hatheway families, as well as a variety of artifacts, documents, photographs, and other materials related to Suffield's history. The house also serves as the Society's headquarters, and hosts a variety of events, lectures, and exhibits throughout the year.

The Society also maintains an extensive research library, which is open to the public, and contains a wide variety of books, documents, maps, photographs, and other materials related to Suffield's history. The library's collections include local histories, genealogical references, census data, and other resources.

In addition to the Phelps-Hatheway House and Garden, the Suffield Historical Society also owns and maintains the historic Phelps-Hatheway Barn. Originally built in 1796, the Barn is home to a variety of interactive exhibits and educational programs. The Barn is open to the public, and hosts a variety of events throughout the year.

The Suffield Historical Society is committed to preserving and sharing the history and culture of Suffield, Connecticut. Through its collections, programs, and events, the Society strives to educate and engage the local community, and to promote the appreciation and understanding of Suffield's unique history.
