THE ELLINGTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY INC

The Ellington Historical Society Inc (EHS) was founded in 1969 and is based in Ellington, Connecticut. Its mission is to “promote the preservation of the history of Ellington and the surrounding region by collecting and preserving artifacts, photographs, and other materials related to its history.” The EHS is composed of a board of directors and volunteers and is supported by the Ellington Historical Association, a nonprofit organization of Ellington citizens.

Through its efforts, the EHS has collected and preserved a wide range of artifacts and documents related to Ellington’s history. Its collection includes items such as old photographs, maps, letters, diaries, postcards, and books. The EHS also maintains a research library with an extensive collection of materials relating to Ellington and its surrounding communities.
