The Historical Society of Oak Creek & Phippsburg (HSOP) is a non-profit organization located in Oak Creek, Colorado. Founded in 1976 by a group of local residents, HSOP seeks to preserve and promote the history of Oak Creek and its surrounding areas.

HSOP is dedicated to preserving the region’s history through its museum, archives, and other educational programs. Through its educational programs, the society seeks to increase public awareness and knowledge of the region’s history and heritage. HSOP also hosts a variety of special events throughout the year, including lectures, workshops, and other activities.

Bar-U-E Feeder-5_ed2 To the right of and behind the feeder is the lift operator's shack at the top of the Bar-U-E chairlift. Elevation is 10,372 ft. Most people ski or ride right past it without even noticing it. There's a big sign visible on the lift shack with pictures of the birds that are commonly seen there. Unfortunately, as of December 2022, the sign is badly faded.
