BOULDER VALLEY RAILWAY HISTORICAL SOCIETY

The Boulder Valley Railway Historical Society (BVRHS) is a volunteer-run non-profit organization based in Longmont, Colorado. The society's mission is to collect, preserve and educate the public about Colorado's railway history.

The BVRHS was formed in 1998 by a group of dedicated railroad enthusiasts and historians. Since then, they have grown to over 200 members and volunteers. The BVRHS owns and operates the Longmont Railroad Depot, which serves as a museum and research center. They also maintain the Boulder Valley Railway, a 3.2-mile short line that connects Longmont to the Union Pacific Railroad.

The BVRHS offers a variety of educational programs and events. They host a variety of events such as an annual open house, restoration days, and special events such as their 'Train to the Fair' days at the Boulder County Fair. They also offer educational programs such as school tours, lectures, and seminars on railroad history.

The BVRHS is committed to preserving Colorado's railroad history and educating the public about it. They also strive to restore and operate historic railroad equipment, and to promote railroad safety and appreciation. The BVRHS is proud to be a part of the Longmont community and to serve as a source of local history and entertainment.
