Lindsay Wildlife Museum in Walnut Creek, CA is an interactive educational experience for visitors of all ages. The museum was founded in 1955 by local naturalist Robert Lindsay, and is the first wildlife rehabilitation center of its kind in the United States. The museum is now a part of the East Bay Regional Park District and showcases the work of wildlife professionals, volunteers and members of the community in protecting and preserving wildlife.

The museum houses over 50 species of live animals, including hawks, owls, eagles, bobcats, foxes, coyotes, snakes, raptors, turtles, frogs, and more. Visitors can view these animals up close in the many exhibits and interactive displays, as well as learn more about them through hands-on activities and educational programming. The museum also hosts a variety of events, workshops and lectures throughout the year.

In addition to the live animals, the museum also boasts a variety of interactive exhibits including the Nature’s Nursery, a simulated wild animal nursery where visitors can learn about animal care and rehabilitation, and the Native Wildlife Garden, where visitors can explore the native plants and animals of California’s East Bay Area. The museum also offers a variety of educational programs for children, families and adults such as nature walks, bird watching, photography classes and educational workshops.
