Shadelands Ranch Historical is located in Walnut Creek, California, and is one of the oldest and most historically significant sites in the city. The ranch was originally purchased by Jonathan and Margaret Shadeland in 1871, and the land has been owned by the same family ever since. The ranch consists of a variety of historic buildings, including a mansion, a barn, a carriage house, a blacksmith shop, a granary, and several other outbuildings. The ranch is surrounded by over five acres of gardens and green space, and is home to a variety of native plants and wildlife.

The mansion, built in 1876, is a two-story brick building with a Greek Revival-style facade. Inside, the mansion has been lovingly restored and features a variety of original artifacts and furnishings, including an ornate spiral staircase. The barn, built in 1881, is a two-story frame structure with a steeply-pitched roof. The carriage house was built in 1888 and is a one-story frame building with a gambrel roof. The blacksmith shop, built in 1890, is a one-story frame building with a steeply-pitched roof. The granary, built in 1891, is a one-story frame building with a gabled roof.

Shadelands Ranch Historical is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is open to the public for guided tours, educational programs, and special events. The ranch is also home to the Walnut Creek Historical Society, which offers a variety of exhibits and educational programs about the history of the ranch and the surrounding area.
