The Taube Foundation for Jewish Life and Culture was founded in 1981 and is based in San Francisco, California. The Foundation is dedicated to preserving and enhancing Jewish life and culture in the Bay Area and beyond. It provides grant support to organizations, institutions and individuals engaged in a variety of activities that enrich the lives of Jews in the Bay Area.

The Foundation’s grantmaking focuses on four core areas: education and study, community development and capacity building, Jewish identity and culture, and Jewish continuity and identity. It supports a wide variety of initiatives, including educational programming for adults and children, cultural events and programs, Jewish identity and cultural initiatives, and youth and community engagement.

The Foundation also provides funding for scholarships and fellowships, initiatives that contribute to strengthening the Bay Area’s Jewish community, and projects that promote a greater understanding of the Jewish people and their culture. In addition, the Foundation works to strengthen collaboration among local Jewish organizations, promote dialogue and collaboration between the Bay Area’s Jewish and non-Jewish communities, and support the development of Jewish leadership.

The Taube Foundation for Jewish Life and Culture has invested more than $50 million in Bay Area Jewish life since its establishment. Its goal is to ensure continuity and vibrancy of the Bay Area’s Jewish community, both now and in the future.
