Frank Shulenburg, Bidwell Mansion (CC-BY-SA-4.0), Chico, California Bidwell Mansion, located at 525 Esplanade in Chico, California, was the home of General John Bidwell and Annie Bidwell. The three-story brick structure is built in an informally romantic version of the Italianate style. Now a museum and State Historic Park, it is California Historical Landmark #329 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Orland Historical and Cultural Society (OHCS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and protecting the cultural heritage of Orland, California. Founded in 1961, OHCS is committed to educating the public about the history and cultural heritage of Orland and its surrounding area. OHCS is responsible for the preservation of historic buildings, artifacts, and documents related to the history of the area.

OHCS works to promote and preserve the culture of Orland and its surrounding area through a variety of educational and cultural initiatives. The organization hosts a variety of events, including educational programs and seminars, concerts, lectures, and exhibits. OHCS also sponsors field trips that focus on the history and culture of Orland and its surrounding area.

OHCS also works to preserve Orland’s historic buildings. The organization has worked to restore and preserve the Orland Depot, which was built in 1872 and is the oldest existing train station in Butte County. OHCS also worked to restore the historic Orland Opera House, which opened in 1891 and served as a performance venue for local and touring acts.
